Way up north, (North To Alaska.)
Way up north, (North To Alaska.)
North to Alaska,
They're goin' North, the rush is on.
North to Alaska,
They're goin' North, the rush is on.
This is the lyrics from the classic country song by Johnny Horton and which is one of my favourite song
..."Here’s how I look at the choice Americans face in this election:
In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers, and then there are those, like John McCain,
who use their careers to promote change.”..
Palin
Sarah Louise Heath Palin (pronounced /ˈpeɪlɪn/; born February 11, 1964) is the governor of Alaska and the Republican vice-presidential nominee in the 2008 United States presidential election.
On August 29, 2008, Republican presidential candidate Senator John McCain announced that he had chosen Palin as his running mate. She was nominated at the 2008 Republican National Convention in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Palin is the first woman to run on the Republican presidential ticket and, if elected, will become the first female Vice President of the United States. She may one day become the most powerful women of the most powerful country on Earth because of McCain's age or should anything happens to McCain.
Initially , many were skeptical of her choice as she was an unknown factor but recent popularity polls showed that she is starting to bite .She has supplemented McCain's campaign very well and her celebrity status is now pulling in the women voters who identity with her struggles as a mom of five with the youngest child having Down's syndrome and one teen daughter pregnant and unmarried. She is every woman's idol. She may get the support from Clinton's women supporters who may vote on sexual lines.
The latest USA Today-Gallup Poll released on Sunday shows Mr McCain moving ahead of Obama 50 percent to 46 percent, wiping out MrObama's seven-point lead after the Democratic convention a week earlier.
She is overwhelming and it has been incredible, sending Obama reeling and not knowing how to handle this sudden surge from the Republicans. Obama should have selected Clinton as his running mate and they would make a great pair.
By not picking her as a VP, it could alienate a lot of her supporters who are white women.
I think this is a bad judgment from Obama and he will pay dearly for this mistake.
Now, the Republican is steaming ahead with Palin going at full speed..Will Obama find the right strategy to counter her offensive? Time will tell.
Whatever the outcome , a new history and a dawn of a new era will begin in the USA. . Either there will be a new black President or a new woman Vice president.
