Palinmania - US Election 2008

Before , there was this Obama mania and now this bright star from the North, Sarah Palin ,the Governor of Alaska shone brighter and eclipse him for now. She is McCain's secret weapon unleashed upon Obama.

She may have come from a small rural town but she has the experience  as a governor of a state. The other three are all senators.

Some people may think she is a flash in the pan but she has brought that kind of attentions and celebrity and star followings to the Republican campaigns and in the process rejuvenated the party.

I was not attracted to McCain even though he was a decorated war hero and was a POW during the Vietnam war but with Palin getting into the picture, many young and middle age voters are drawn to her mystery surrounding her causing a Palinmania of sorts.

She is like a catalyst in the Republican campaigns. She exceeded her expectations when a poll showed that the Republicans have overshot the Democrats and leading steadily. It could only be her star powers and her good looks which swinged those voters to the Republican side.


While Hollywood and the liberal elite continue to look for ways to discredit VP candidate Sarah Palin, those 'bitter' voters, who 'cling to guns or religion' aren't paying attention. From catchy signs to signing autographs, Governor Palin is everywhere these days and has opened a new and exciting front in the 2008 Presidential campaign.

The Democrats are going through her closet with a comb to try to find any skeletons inside or maybe employ the CSI team. The press and  in the internet are stories of her supposed missdeeds. Don't know how far those negative reports are true or just baseless and out to smear her name.

From the  knowledge of what I have read about her , she is a real women, as real as the average American family woman going through the hassle and dazzle of the daily  grind in life. Her son is is going over to Iraq and one of her children has Down syndrome

She is not only appealing to the white women but also to those white working class rural men in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Even in the democratic country like the USA , race do play a major role in the race of the candidate.

She may also sway those Clinton white women supporters as they were hurt that Clinton was not picked as his running mate. They would have  formed a formidable team.

She has energized, transformed and electrified the atmosphere where ever her name is mentioned. It has become a phenomenon.

Will she sway the outcome of this interesting election ? You bet !. The Republicans seem to hold the upper hand for now. It is still some way to the final and anything can happen.

The Democrats have no answer yet to this Palinmania that is rippling throughout the USA.
