She did not get married earlier because she saw many wives were beaten by their chauvinistic husbands.It was prevalent during her times when the husband and wives came to blows and the husbands abused their wives to put them in place. Those abused women were pitiful and had no recourse but to suffer in silence.
Chinese men are more chauvinistic and they tend to lord over their women. Off course, the modern educated Chinese who are exposed to the Western cultures are a better lot than those feudalistic and traditional men.
In Malaysia, women like her may marry much younger men who could be their children or grand children's age. Whether it is for true love or for her properties or assets , we do not know. You'll be the judge.
For those women who are still single, you should throw away your stupid 'man shopping list' or you will be like her.
