The birth of a young one is an auspicious occasion for the parents.The first thing they will look for is to see that the baby is physically normal, acts normal like any babies and whether it is a boy or a girl.
With today's technology, they would probably have carried out scans in the first trimester and found out about the sex of their baby.
There have been a report of a baby born without any genitals .Muhammad Nabil Mustaqim Rodzake was born without genitals. The baby had only one orifice and the urine and waste products were discharged through it.
Since s/he was born without any external sexual organs, the doctors were not able to tell if it was a boy or a girl. It was only after a DNA test that the sex of the baby was known.Whether s/he will grow up as a girl or boy will be another matter.
The official sex of a baby is decided by the physical process, whether they have those male organs or female organs.There is another way to decide the sex by the psychological process, whether they exhibit those male or female characteristics.
Some can be born physically male /female but who feels that they are a woman /man trapped in the wrong body.It is not the body shape but the brains and the hormones which decide whether one is male or female. You think you are a male but later down the road, you discover that you are a female, born in the body of a male.You are a trans gender!
What would it be like to be born without any genitalia ?
At the moment , the doctors cannot do anything about it yet as the real sex of the baby has not manifested. It would be wrong to assume that it will be a boy since the DNA test showed he has male characteristics.Once,the sex is confirmed , reconstructive surgery can be performed on the baby.
If he is born in the 1st world countries, he will get those free treatments under the government policies. If he is born in a 3rd world country, he will have to depend on the generosities and charities of other people.
It will be traumatic for the baby when he grows up and finds out that he is different from the others.
We wish him all the best and hope that the government or those charitable organizations would look into his plight and help him to lead a normal life.
